Leonardo Da Vinci Drawings on Exhibition Essay In Gallery 25 the Venetian and Bolognese drawings have been supplanted by otherdrawings from the Museum assortment. The current show is browsed thechools of Parma, Milan, and Genoa, and one divider is offered over to the school ofRaphael. Among these is the rear of a naked man by Raphael himself, made durng his stay in Florence, one of the drawings given by Cephas G. Thompson in 1887.In the Genoese gathering the arrangement of twelve splendid drawings by Luca Cambiaso is deserving of remark, as are numerous others of the display; yet the central intrigue will befound in the two sheets of drawings by Leonardo da Vinci which were bought in917 and are currently appeared just because. More likely than not these have alwaysbeen ascribed to this ace, yet they were obscure to any of the noticeable thorities and thus don't happen in any of the rundowns. Since 18o01 theirhistory is recognizable. On the envelope where they were kept up to the time ofheir mounting for display is an inscrip-tion in French expressing that they weregiven to J. Allen Smith by J. G. Legrand, May, 18o0. The drawings were ownedâ later by Thomas Sully, the painter, who apparently procured them during one of his visits to Europe, either in 1809-1o or all the more presumably in i837-38, when he painted the picture of Queen Victoria. At Sullys demise the drawings, with other propertâ of the painter, went to his grandson, Francis T. S. Darley, 1 who in his turn handed down the Leonardos to Thomas Nash, from whom the Museum gained them. One of the sheets shows a pen and bistre attracting a hover around 24 crawls in breadth in which a dozing man is situated under a tree while a snake and a reptile battle on the stone where he inclines his head. It is a delineation for a bestiary, clarify ing purposes of common history or good statutes, on which Leonardo was locked in the subject of numerous composition pages saved in the library of the Institute of France. The clarification of the topic of our drawing is given in the engraving above it in Leonardos flawless and impossible to miss option to left penmanship, which, actually deciphered, understands in this manner: The greenâ reptile dedicated to the man, seeing him dozing, battles with the snake. He sees that he can not overcome, runs over the essence of the man and wakes him, with the goal that the snake will not hurt the dozing man. A buddy work to our own, in the Bonnat Collection at Bayonne, is replicated in Berensons Florentine Drawings, vol. 2, page 86. It is likewise an attracting a hover of about a similar size and is in a comparable style. On the opposite of this sheet are some scratchy pen draws for the setting of a masque or play, likewise notes and memoranda. There means that a barrel-vaulted live with specialties as an afterthought dividers, one set apart with the word annunZiatori, commentators, and toward the end a situated figure in a mandorla from which blazes emanate. The implication of another sketch to the privilege isn't clear. Above are a few figures and composing. The composing gives a rundown of characters in a play established on the narrative of Danae, and the entertainers who were to take the parts. The entire engraving the extent that it has been deciphered is as per the following: Acrisio (Acrisius the dad of Danae), Giovanni Cristofano; (the following name undeciphered, at that point) Danae, Francesco Romano; Mercury, Gianbattista - ; Jove, Giovanni Francesco; Servant; Announcers of the Festival: those wonder about the new star and bow down and these worship and stoop down and with music they finish the celebration. .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 , .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .postImageUrl , .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .focused content zone { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 , .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:hover , .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:visited , .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:active { border:0!important; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 { show: square; progress: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-change: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; murkiness: 1; change: darkness 250ms; webkit-change: haziness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:active , .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:hover { mistiness: 1; change: obscurity 250ms; webkit-progress: mistiness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .focused content region { width: 100%; position: relative; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; text-beautification: underline; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504 .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: striking; line-tallness: 26px; moz-fringe span: 3px; text-adjust: focus; text-design: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: total; right: 0; top: 0; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db64377005 04 .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .uf3e120542f572d3e0b49db6437700504:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Leonardo Da Vinci as one of the best and most sharp men that history has delivered EssayThe other sheet, 72 crawls by 6-inches, is significantly more significant. On it are drawings in pen and bistre of the Madonna venerating the Child, considered pretty much in the soul of the conventional Florentinetreatment of the subject acquired from Fra Filippo Lippi. Be that as it may, in the sketcheshe old topic is adapted and simultaneously celebrated. In the writersopinion, they mark the phase when the perceived rendering of the subject was being changed in Leonardos mind into the age making sythesis of the Virgin of the Rocks. The drawings are still a long way from the significant slant and full articulation of thepainting. The gathering in the inside methodologies its general perspective more nearlyhan the others, yet in it the topic is as yet the standard one-the creation of the Madonnas pose, the one hand on Saint Johns shoulder and the other in the fabulous sture of sanctification over the Christ Child, has not yet happened to him, thoughthe germ thought shows up in the two outstretched arms. The heavenliness and revernce of the kids are nevertheless half proposed in the drawing. In the course of action ofthe Madonnas mantle pulled out over the correct arm the drawing resembles the picre; the clear signs of the folds propose that the craftsman had orchestrated thedrapery on a maquette or mannikin. The lower sketch, where a similar posture andolds are appeared from another perspective, substantiates this thought. This lower drawing,in a space with a curved top, shows just the small Christ Child lying on the ground, d there is a foundation a side of a destroyed stay with a perspective on mountains seenthrough a curve. The other two drawings show various stances of the bowing Virgin;n each lone the Christ Child is appeared with her; one has a proposal of a confined roofedshed in silver point for foundation. There are likewise two investigations of infants in silver point daintily fortified by pen and bistre. Leonardo marked the agreement in 1483 to paint the inside picture of the altarpiecein the Church of San Francesco in Milan for the Confraternita della Concezionehis work was the Virgin of the Rocks. It was at the hour of his first visit to Milan, and it is at about this time or to some degree before that I should dare to put the drawing, in other words, not a long way from theâ time of the various drawings for the Adoration and the Madonna with the Cat. The other sheet, the Allegory, would date too from the principal visit to Milan, I accept, if just from the masque memoranda on the opposite, as it is realized that quite a bit of Leonardos time in the administration of Lodovico was spent in organizing such issues.

Compensation wasnt a main concern for Murphy, it was the satisfaction of being able to help someone that made her choice this career path. Murphy has an exceptional educational background. She is a licensed social worker who received a Bachelor of Social Work at Elms College. Also, accomplished to receive a Masters degree focused in social work from Fordham University. Currently a candidate at Walden University where she is studying for a PhD. Her extensive education is a sign of dedication and perseverance. There will be challenging groups or individuals to work with. With time and experience, one will learn to deal with situations appropriately. It takes patients, compassion, and empathy to work with individuals but never give up on them because failure is not an option. And that is what a social work does, empathize with others. Plans for Murphys future were not discussed in detail, as stated above she is a student working on her PhD in social work. She received a field supervisor award for excellence in her company and that is just one of many accomplishments that she has been acknowledged for. Observing Murphy practicing specific social work values wasnt hard. Noticed from the moment I sat down and spoke her ethical and moral values. The integrity and attitude towards humanity were expressed in her conversation. She had good moral values and ethics. To have respect and show empathy for the needs of others were traits that she possessed. She maintained firm boundaries and clear communication. Felt good not being judged or spoken down to. Sometimes people of hire authority treat others poorly and she does not. She instantly noticed my shy demeanor and made me comfortable for the interview process. Is always very polite and caring to myself and her peers. To her all human beings, had the same basic psychological and physical needs. It is no wonder why she practices in a field where human needs are a priority. Cultural competence is an important part of social work in understanding where the client is at and helping them meet their goals. Listening skills, being able to listen without prejudice is important. Putting ones own beliefs asides and not try to change someone elses. Attention to detail and a good observer. As a social worker being able to notice and right down every detail you witness can be helpful for future reference. Respect and commitment towards the help an individual in need. Self-awareness, to understand others and how they might perceive you. Time management, being able to think quickly and work fast to deescalate problems. Great organizational skills because a social worker has important paperwork that needs to be done. Strong verbal and written skills. Persuasive speech to get the attention of individuals Lastly, having patience always. Social workers deal with individuals that are struggling and can take it out on them. A social worker like Murphy stays calm and thinks of strategies and remains calm because not having patients can make problems worse. All these skills play a crucial role in the career of a successful Social Worker. Social workers like Murphy demonstrate leadership in promoting change in their place of employment by using qualities and skills obtained over the years. Murphy used to utilize a social work approach that is strengths based in all her work. To being with, she enjoys research and data collection and takes information gathered to make informed decisions. One example would be utilizing motivational interviewing as an agency wide approach. MI can be used by all types of staff and can be used to work with clients, staff, and during supervision. As a leader, you need to be able to make informed choices and communicate everything. Her numerous positions in the field demonstrate that she has worked and is still working on building better solutions to help different individuals. O verall, learned different aspects about social work that will help me in my future goal of being a social worker. Learned that not everyone is fit to work in the social work field. It takes special people with a kind heart and who are compassionate to help others. People who are heartless and have negative views on life should not be a social worker. Individuals who live to judge others and who think they are better than others should not be a part of human services. It takes a lot of hard work and time to help individuals who dont care about life. Its difficult to come into a job site and see traumatic situations. It is not an easy job to deal with an individual and maybe have family members disagree with what goals you chose for that person. It is a dangerous field to work for but then again, no job is safe. To be a social worker is to be able to present yourself in the most professional and knowledgeable manner, a question about what it is like to be in social work can be different by the different experiences that each face in the broad field. The challenges and rewards of social work should be a priority. Some cases will be great learning experiences and memorable, and others will be devastating. You will learn to work in different settings and learn to like or dislike and that will be okay. A social worker can deal with battered women while another works best with troubled teens. Eventually, everyone finds what fits there wants and needs and being able to pick a profession where you can help others is wonderful. Social workers should be able to complete a task daily whether good or bad. It seems like it would be a great reward to see even the smallest positive change when working with a family or community. But challenges could be the exact opposite, working endlessly to advocate for change and not seeing, or being disappointed with the result. In the fieldwork seems like the reward of being part of any small positive changes are all successes and with this, I know doing what is right can be a great accomplish in social work practice.

Does God Exist Essay - 925 Words

Does God exist? The question of Gods existence is a perplexing one, the only evidence we have of God is what we are told from those who worship him, and unknowns can be debated logically if a higher being is in control. It has been written that in the beginning there was man and there was woman, and God put the two together to create a new race of beings. We are to assume then that God gave these beings a soul to distinguish them from other beings, for example, plants. The soul is often argued to be a mystical form that is immortal and can not be proven to be anything else. Assuming this argument to be valid then God is a supreme being to have created humans. We have several high beings that appear to stem from this one divine being,†¦show more content†¦This leads to the argument for a heaven and a hell, an afterlife for the immortal soul to move onto. Platos cosmology dictates the Notion of Purity in the structure of the universe, going as far to say that the Earth is round and beyond the stars and planets is a World of Being. His reasoning is what is pure will rise above the earth, and what is non-pure will slip from it. People of faith take this concept and say there must be a supreme being governing this process, thus God must exist. It is Socrates metaphysics that leads us to two worlds, one of becoming, the other of being. In the World of Becoming the body is most like the seen, and in the World of Being the body is of the unseen, according to Socrates. In the World of Becoming humans are limited by their body, whereas the World of Being consists of the mind and soul. Socrates believed to achieve the World of Being one must die to free their soul, and he did this. Believing a true philosopher is one who wants death he let it happen so that his soul could be free to learn the truth of the portrait of an ideal form, free of limitations. People of faith would say that this is what God ultimately did as well. God was a true philosopher who freed his soul. Unfortunately for the philosophers who accomplish this, we never hear from them again. If there is a God, then he must be a silent being that is diligent in his work. Adventures Of Huck Finn And Morality Essay Example For Students

Adventures Of Huck Finn And Morality Essay In every persons life at one point they will have to make a choice based on their moral beliefs. These decisions can show what a person believes in right from the start. In Mark Twains The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn the main character Huck, makes two very important moral decisions. The first being how he treats Jim when he first meets him at Jacksons Island and the second is to tear up the letter to Miss Watson out of his love for Jim. When Huck first runs away from Pap he goes to Jacksons Island and thinks that he is the only person there. He soon finds out that this is not true, and that Miss Watsons Jim41 is taking refuge there as well. Many people would hate to be alone on an island with a nigger43, but Huck is instead happy to have someone to converse with. At first Jim thinks he sees Hucks ghost and is petrified. Huck eases Jims feelings by changing the subject and saying Its good daylight, les get breakfast41, showing that Huck is not only real but he does not mind that Jim is black. Jim feels that Huck might tell on him for running away, but he then decides that it will be okay to tell him why he ran away from Miss Watson. Jim keeps asking Huck if he is going to tell anyone about his running away, and Huck replies People would call me a low down abolitionist and despise me for keeping mum but that dont make no difference I aint gonna tell43. Hucks response truly shows that his ignorance has no bearing over his moral kindness. When taken into consideration good morality is much more important in the long run than being the most intelligent person. After journeying with Jim for quite some time Huck begins to feel bad about harboring a runaway slave. He decides to write a letter to Miss Watson explaining the whole story, because Jim had been sold and he does not know where he is. Huck was indeed confused about what he should do so he dropped he dropped to his knees and began to pray. He felt by helping Jim he was committing a sin, but he later realized you cant pray a lie205. Huck saying this shows that he feels what he has done for Jim is not wrong; instead what others had done to Jim is wrong. Still not sure of what to do about the whole situation Huck writes the letter to Miss Watson, thinking he will be cleaned of sin206 and not feel so bad about what he is doing. After writing this letter of confession to Miss Watson, Huck starts to reminisce about the times he had with Jim. As he is thinking he comes across the times Jim would be standing my watch on top of hisn, stead of calling me so I could go on sleeping206. Huck begins to realize that he would not be able to strike no places to harden me against him206, showing that he realizes that Jim has done nothing but good for him. Huck looks at what he is doing and feels ashamed. He takes one final look at the letter before saying all right then, Ill go to hell206 and then rips up the letter of confession. The fact that Huck looked back at his times with Jim before deciding to tear up the letter shows that the decision was obviously made conscientiously through his morals. Hucks morality has a major effect on the way he treats Jim at Jacksons Island and in his decision to tear up the confession letter to Miss Watson. The manner that these decisions are made shows that Huck does indeed have a good set of morals, which he uses to make his decisions. A lack of these Morals could give one of the greatest adventure novels ever written a completely different ending.
